Chrysopogon zizanioides – வெட்டிவேர்

Scientific name of vetiver is Chrysopogon zizanioides and native is Tropical Asia mainly India. Roots of plants will grow do the depth of 3 meters and plants grows upto the height of 1.5 meters. The species of this plant placed in IUCN list. This is grass type of plant and prevents soil erosion. It has purple colored flower and this plants also called as kush in some part of India. It grows in near Mountain, Plains and coastal areas. Roots of these plants has nature of cooling water and used to cool water, this roots also used to garlands. Hand fans also made with these roots. Nowadays these roots also used to make kertam. This plant palced endangered list
